Apply WordPress.org theme and plugin translations to a site even if translations are not yet approved or language packs have not been released.

Note about Translation Playground:
The Translation Playground is now available for quick translation testing. However, if you need to test translations on your actual site, this plugin may remain the practical solution.

⚠️ Warning ⚠️ Currently this plugin downloads only strings from Development project instead of Stable for plugins. Please wait for an update or see the issue on GitHub.

⚠️ Warning ⚠️ Currently this plugin is not able to generate the JSON files that is needed for JavaScript to consume some translations. Please wait for update or see the issue on GitHub.

Theme translation

To download the translation files for a theme:

Activate the theme you want to get the translation files.
Visit ‘Appearance’ > ‘Update translation’ in WordPress menu, or click ‘Update translation’ on theme details of current theme on ‘Themes’ page.
Click the ‘Update Translations’ button.

Plugin translation

To download the translation files for a plugin:

Visit ‘Plugins’ in WordPress menu.
Click ‘Update translation’ under the name of the plugin for which you want to get the translation files.

Capturas

“Update translation” link will be shown in your plugins list.

If you are translating a plug-in or a theme, this plug-in is a must-have. It allows you to pull your translations from translate.wordpress.org into your website to see these translations in context – which is often the only way to tell whether something is well translated or not. In the most recent version of the plug-in, this works not only for plug-in translations but for theme translations as well. Easy to use, works fine.

This plugin is very helpful! We able to use themes/plugins in our language, even it is not 100% translation.

I am so glad to find this plugin. We have international users for our plugin that help out by submitting translations. The problem is, there is no way for them to use the translations until it goes through a formal approval process. This is a wonderful solution, we can point our users to this plugin so they can use the translations right away. Thanks so much for making this!
