For example:<\/p>\n\n<pre><code>[braille]Text to be translated into Braille.[\/braille]\n<\/code><\/pre>\n\n<p>Depending on how the plugin is configured, this will place either UTF-8\nSimBraille in the page, or the ASCII sequences used when embossing on paper.<\/p>\n\n<h4>Page Part Translation<\/h4>\n\n<p>Primarily designed for testing, different parts of a site may automatically\nbe translated into Braille.<\/p>\n\n<p>Depending on how the plugin is configured, this will place either UTF-8\nSimBraille in the page, or the ASCII sequences used when embossing on paper.<\/p>\n\n<h4>Integration with Anthologize<\/h4>\n\n<p>The Braille plugin provides a Braille output type for the <a href=\"http:\/\/anthologize.org\/\">Anthologize\nplugin<\/a>. You may select BRL or SimBraille output.\nBRL is suitable for embossing. SimBraille produces an HTML file with UTF-8 \nencoded glyphs representing the embossed form of the characters suitable for \ndisplay in a visual interface.<\/p>\n\n<p>**N.B.: This plugin requires\n<a href=\"https:\/\/code.google.com\/p\/liblouisutdml\/\">LibLouis<\/a> installed on the same\nsystem as the WordPress site or access to a remote service providing\nLibLouis functionality. <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/umd-mith\/braille\/blob\/master\/USING-REMOTE-LIBLOUIS-AMI.md\">A free and public Amazon machine image is available\nwith the necessary software installed and configured.<\/a><\/p>\n\n<h4>Configuration<\/h4>\n\n<p>The plugin uses <a href=\"https:\/\/code.google.com\/p\/liblouisutdml\/\">LibLouis<\/a> to\ntranslate English text into Braille. You either need LibLouis installed on\nthe same machine as your WordPress installation or access to a remote\nLibLouis service such as the one provided by the \n<a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/umd-mith\/braille\/tree\/master\/remote-liblouis\">example remote LibLouis service<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<ol>\n<li><p>Go to Plugins screen and find the Braille plugin in the list OR select\nthe Braille Plugin from the list of available Settings (see the first \nscreenshot).<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p>Click on the plugin to go to the configuration screen.<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p>Select \"Local\" or \"Remote\" LibLouis.<\/p>\n\n<ol>\n<li><p>If \"Local\" LibLouis, place the full path of the executable in the text\nbox (e.g., <code>\/usr\/local\/bin<\/code>).<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p>If \"Remote\" LibLouis, place the full URL of the JSON service in the\nappropriate text box (e.g., if using the example remote-liblouis service\nmentioned above, use the <code>braille.json<\/code> endpoint). If you are using this plugin to provide Braille\ntranslation for Anthologize, you do not need to select anything here.<\/p><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<!--section=installation-->\n<h4>Automatic Plugin Installation<\/h4>\n\n<p>To add this plugin using the built-in plugin installer:<\/p>\n\n<ol>\n<li><p>Go to Plugins &gt; Add New.<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p>Under <strong>Search<\/strong>, type in \"Braille\".<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p>Select the plugin from the list offered.<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p>Select <strong>Install Now<\/strong> to install the plugin.<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p>A popup window will ask you to confirm you wish to install the plugin.<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p>Select <strong>Proceed<\/strong> to continue with the installation.<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p>If successful, click <strong>Activate Plugin<\/strong> to activate it, or <strong>Return to\nPlugin Installer<\/strong> for further actions.<\/p><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<h4>Manual Installation<\/h4>\n\n<p>To install this plugin manually:<\/p>\n\n<ol>\n<li><p>Download the plugin archive to your desktop.<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p>Extract the plugin folder to your desktop.<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p>Read through the \"readme\" file to ensure you follow the installation\ninstructions.<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p>Upload the plugin folder to the <code>wp-content\/plugins<\/code> folder in your\nWordPress directory.<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p>Go to Plugins screen and find the newly uploaded plugin in the list.<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p>Select <strong>Activate Plugin<\/strong> to activate it.<\/p><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<!--section=faq-->\n<dl>\n<dt>Does this plugin convert post text to Braille?<\/dt>\n<dd><p>If the plugin is configured to do so, the content of blog posts, pages, and\nother parts of the site will be translated into Braille without requiring the\nuse of the short code. Otherwise, the plugin will only provide Braille\ntranslation of text enclosed in the <code>braille<\/code> short code.<\/p>\n\n<p>Braille translation requires that one of the local or remote LibLouis settings\nbe configured properly.
